The builders finally came today, and now the house is freezing and a mess and we have new radiators the size of two elephants sitting butt to butt. Nothing is going to fit back in and we are all thoroughly miffed off. Plus, we have to patch up the paintwork that's been damaged *
always a brilliant effect in style and taste* and call the carpet fitter to put our now pretty much ruined carpets back into place.
The council have waved off any responsibility for this damage, but I don't think that's fair *
the cheeky swines*. It may be their building, but it's our stuff, they should compensate for what's been done. Strangely, the
Tenting Army was cosy and warm in the tent, yet are now very cold in the house. We have no heating overnight, no hot water, and no tolerance left. The
Tenting Veterans may have to declare war, because the prospect of waving the white flag is just not an option.
We are starting a soundtrack,
'Sounds of the Tent'. The first track is S.O.S by ABBA, the second track *after a short debate* is Street Life, by Randy Crawford *could be Roberta Flack, not sure*. The third song is Nikita, by Elton John, where the original misheard lyric of the Tenting soldiers appears. Take a listen, it's there ;)
